Bedele Beer

CHALLENGE

Our partner agency in Ethiopia, Cactus, wanted us to produce a TV commercial for Bedele Beer, a Heineken product targeted for the Ethiopian market. With the production set to take place in Kenya, we had the task of learning about the Ethiopian culture just to get the concept right.

HEAT

We started by sourcing for local Ethiopian cast who would feature in the ad. We sourced for the best locations that looked ‘Ethiopian’ and hired a professional team to best handle the shoot as well as editing essentials. We had ample time to plan ahead. Production took two days and involved evening cocktail scenes, rooftop stunts and 3D animatics and an architect.

RESULT

The final edit matched international standards. Realistic 3D effects blended well with real footage. Everything about the ad looked Ethiopian and it exemplified the high-end beer that Bedele is.
